WORLD WAR 1
World War 1 is also called the “Great War” because no one
had seen such a big and terrible war before. After this, there was no hope
about such a war again. So it was only called World War but when in 1939 World
War 2 happened after that it was called World War 1.
World War 1 lasted for almost 4 years from 28 July 1914 to
11 November 1918. According to the facts, there were about 17 million deaths in
World War 1, of which 11 million were soldiers, 6 million were civilians and
more than 20 million were Wounded.

In World War One, the war led by two groups, one was Allied
Powers and the other was Central Powers. Allied Powers consisted of Russia,
France, Britain, Japan, and later the USA in 1917. The Central Powers included
the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Germany, and the Ottoman Empire.
WORLD WAR 1 CAUSES
There are many reasons for World War 1, among them mainly
Imperialism and Militarism, which are considered to be the major causes. At
that time most of the Western countries were engaged in the race for
colonialism. There was a competition of developed countries to make all the
Eastern Countries and African Continent into their colonies. At the same time,
industrial development in Britain and German was growing very quickly. The
result of which was transformed into an armed race.
Due to the Industrial
Revolution large naval ships started to be built, tanks were made and Machine Guns were formed at this time. The effect was that most of the countries
started building large armies. All the developed and powerful countries started
to formed many alliances to become stronger and maintain the balance of power.
ABOUT WORLD WAR 1
One of these alliances was the "Triple Alliance"
which was formed in 1882, with Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy as member
countries. In 1904, France signed "Entente Cordiale" with Britain.
And 3 years later it was renamed "Triple Entente" with the addition
of Russia. In which France, Britain, and Russia became the member countries.
Many more alliances were secretly formed in between countries for future
challenges.
At the same time, a concept was formed between peoples that
without war no country can be formed, progress can’t be made and also the war
was glorified. Many battles were fought to show their supremacy. Three separate
battles were fought in the Baltic Countries between 1890 to 1912 for their
autonomy.
WORLD WAR 1 DATE
Now there was a
situation formed everywhere that even a small spark could be turned into a
terrible war in those countries. And a similar spark occurred when Archduke
Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary and his wife came to visit the place
Sarajevo and they were assassinated by a Bosnian nationalist "Gavrilo
Princep" on 28 June 1914. After the death of Archduke's, the war came in
front of Austria-Hungary and Serbia. Austria-Hungary sent humiliating terms and
conditions to surrender Serbia.
HOW WORLD WAR 1 STARTED
Serbia for his self-respect called for help to Russia. At
the same time, Germany gave help to Austria-Hungry as a treaty signed in 1882
(Triple Alliance). Now the war was declared, Austria-Hungary and Germany
declared war on Serbia. Then Russia declared war on Germany. Due to Triple
Entente, France declared war on Germany. Italy was a member of Triple Alliance
but Italy decided to stand Neutral. Germany attacked France through Belgium.
Britain declared war upon Germany because of the "Treaty of London" which was
signed in 1839 with Belgium.
WORLD WAR 1 INDIA

to fight for the British Army despite not wanting it. Most Indian soldiers had
to fight in the Middle-East, France, and Egypt. In this battle, 50,000 Indian
